When Pro misbehaves with no obvious error, run a conflict test: default theme, all other plugins off, then bring them back one at a time until the problem returns.
Back up first (or use a staging copy). Keep both Coupon Creator and Coupon Creator Pro active throughout — Pro requires the free core, so deactivating core just produces a dependency notice instead of a useful test.
The elimination procedure #
- Theme: activate Twenty Twenty-Five under Appearance → Themes, then test. Gone? It's the theme — restore it, confirm the problem returns, report to the theme developer.
- Plugins: on the Plugins screen, bulk-deactivate everything except Coupon Creator and Coupon Creator Pro. Clear browser and site caches. Test.
- Reintroduce: reactivate one plugin at a time, testing after each. The one that brings the problem back is the conflict.
- Report: check the conflicting plugin's support channel, and tell us too — known conflicts get documented.
Interpreting results #
- Broken admin controls or filter bar → JavaScript collision; confirm via Troubleshooting JavaScript Errors.
- Print view 404s → rewrite interference; see Troubleshooting 404 Errors.
- Recurring expiration not rolling over even with everything off → that's WP-Cron, not a conflict; see Recurring expiration troubleshooting.
- Survives a default theme with everything off → gather Coupons → Options → System Info and contact support.
