Manifyst will not reduce a slot below the number of spots already held, and it will not delete a slot that still has signups. Those safeguards prevent an edit from silently overbooking a shift or removing the signup records attached to it.
If a capacity change is refused:
- Open the event's Signups tab and filter to that slot.
- Move or cancel enough confirmed signups to bring the occupied quantity down to the new capacity.
- Return to Slots, edit the capacity, and save again.
Remember that one signup can hold more than one spot. Compare the requested capacity with the total quantity held, not only the number of names in the list.
If you want to stop new signups without disturbing the people already registered, edit the slot and turn off Active (open for signups). The slot disappears from new signup choices, but its existing signups and history remain.
Delete a slot only when it has no signups you need to retain. Capacity changes, cancellations, and released spots remain visible in Activity Log and Stock History.
