Manifyst emails people at the moments that matter: when they sign up, when they land on a waitlist, when a spot opens for them, when they cancel, and before the event starts. Organizers get a note each time someone signs up. All of it is configured on one tab.
Email settings #
Go to Manifyst → Settings → Email.

- From Name and From Email are the sender on every message. Use an address on your own domain — a Gmail or Yahoo address in the From field is one of the fastest ways into a spam folder.
- Send Confirmation Emails turns the signup confirmation on or off site-wide. Notify Organizer on Signup does the same for the organizer's copy.
- Send Reminder Emails and Reminder Hours Before Event schedule the reminder —
24sends it a day ahead. Reminders go to confirmed attendees only. - Email Templates lists every message Manifyst can send, with its current status.
- Deliverability checks whether mail from this server is likely to arrive.
Click Save Changes after editing any of the settings fields. The template and deliverability panels save on their own.
The six emails #
| Sent to | When | |
|---|---|---|
| Signup Confirmation | The attendee | Their signup is confirmed |
| Cancellation Confirmation | The attendee | Their signup is cancelled |
| Event Reminder | Confirmed attendees | The configured number of hours before the event |
| Organizer Notification | The event organizer | Someone signs up |
| Waitlist Confirmation | The attendee | Their signup lands on the waitlist |
| Waitlist Promotion | The attendee | A spot opens and they are promoted |
Editing a template #
Click a template's name in the list (or the Edit template action under it) to open the editor.

- Email Subject accepts placeholders such as
{event_title}, so one template covers every event. The default is shown underneath, and clearing the field restores it. - Email Heading is the title inside the email body. Leave it blank to reuse the subject.
- Additional Message is appended to the standard body — the place for a parking note, a what-to-bring line, or a thank-you.
Preview Email renders the message with sample data so you can read it as a recipient would. Save Settings stores your changes; Close discards them.
Deliverability #
The Deliverability panel is a quick health check on outgoing mail:
- Server IP — whether your server's address appears on major blacklists.
- Sending Domain — the domain derived from your From Email.
- SPF Record — whether that domain publishes an SPF record authorizing this server. Missing SPF is the most common reason signup confirmations land in spam.
- Last Checked with a Refresh link, since DNS changes take time to propagate.
Send Test Email delivers a real message to any address you enter — the fastest way to confirm the whole chain works before you announce an event.
If mail is unreliable, an SMTP plugin routes WordPress email through a proper mail service instead of the web server. The panel says so when it doesn't detect one.
If reminders never arrive #
Reminder emails ride on WP-Cron, which only runs when someone visits your site. On a quiet site, a reminder can go out late or not at all. See Reminder emails aren't sending.
