Most of the people who run your signup sheets shouldn't need a tour of the WordPress dashboard. Manifyst's front-end console gives a room parent, a shift lead, or a committee chair everything they need to create events and manage signups — on a normal page of your site, with no admin access at all.
Set up the manager page #
Manifyst creates a draft page named Manage Signups during activation, adds the
shortcode, and selects it as the Manager Page. Go directly to Manifyst → Settings →
Front-End Manager to finish setting it up.
If the page was deleted or you want to use a different page, create one and add:
[manifyst_manage]

- Manager Page includes published and draft pages, so the page Manifyst created
should already be selected. - The status card shows the page title, publication status, whether the shortcode is
present, and whether coordinator redirects are ready. - Choose View page to review it. For a draft, this opens WordPress's signed-in
preview. - Choose Publish manager page when it is ready. Manifyst refuses to publish a
replacement page that does not contain[manifyst_manage]. - Choose Test access after publishing. A passing test confirms that the page is
published, has a usable URL, and contains the manager console. - Keep Managers Out of the Dashboard is on by default. It starts redirecting
coordinators only after the selected page passes those readiness checks.
Changing the selection shows a warning because it changes where every coordinator is
sent. Manifyst also warns before the selected page is moved to Trash from the Pages
screen. If the page is nevertheless deleted, unpublished, or stripped of its shortcode,
lockdown becomes inactive rather than leaving coordinators at a broken URL.
Assign a role #
Manifyst adds two roles at activation. Assign one when you create the user, under Users → Add New.

- The Role dropdown includes Event Manager and Event Organizer.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Event Manager | Create and manage every event on the site |
| Event Organizer | Create events, and manage only the events they own |
Event Organizer is the safer default when several groups share one site: each coordinator sees their own signup sheets and nobody else's. Existing users can be switched to either role from their profile.
Administrators keep full access either way, both in the dashboard and on the console.
What coordinators see #
The screenshot below shows an unrestricted Event Manager account.

- Event Managers see Dashboard, Events, Add Event, and Stock History.
Event Organizers who own events also see Stock History, restricted to capacity
movements from those events. Site-wide integrity checks remain manager-only. - The dashboard shows the same counts as the admin screen, scoped to what that person is allowed to see.
Creating an event, adding slots and items, editing form fields, managing signups, checking people in, exporting CSV — it all works here exactly as it does in the dashboard. An Event Organizer's lists are filtered to their own events; an Event Manager sees everything.
The page title is the console heading by default. Manifyst does not print a second
Manage Signups heading inside the console. If the page template hides its title and
you want a separate heading, add one explicitly:
[manifyst_manage title="Coordinator tools"]
A working setup #
- Open Settings → Front-End Manager, review the selected draft, and choose Publish
manager page. - Choose Test access and confirm that the readiness check passes.
- Add each coordinator as a user with the Event Organizer role.
- Sign in as one of them (or use a private window) and confirm the console loads and lists the right events.
- Confirm Keep Managers Out of the Dashboard is on.
- Send them the page URL. That link is the whole product as far as they're concerned.
