Password protection gives an active event a shared event password without requiring every attendee to have a WordPress account.
On the event's Event Details tab, choose Password protected under Visibility and enter a password. Manifyst will not save that visibility without one.
Share two things with attendees: the event's Copy link URL and its password. Password-protected events are deliberately direct-link-only—they do not appear in Manifyst event lists, the /events/ archive, category archives, or WordPress sitemaps. An individual Manifyst Event block or [manifyst_event] shortcode displays the same password form until the visitor unlocks it.
The password protects the whole signup sheet, including its event details, slots, items, attendee names, availability endpoints, and signup action. After a correct entry, WordPress remembers the unlock in that browser. It is separate from both a WordPress account password and the event's Require users to be logged in to sign up setting.
Everyone—including administrators and Event Managers—enters the password when viewing the attendee page. Anyone who can manage the event can also see and change the password in the editor, so use an event-specific password rather than a personal or reused credential.
Manifyst marks locked and unlocked password-event responses as non-cacheable. If a host-level cache still shows the wrong state after a password change, purge that event URL once and confirm the host respects WordPress no-cache headers.
