Manifyst adds two roles at activation, so you can hand event management to someone without making them an administrator.
| Role | Role slug | Can do |
|---|---|---|
| Event Manager | manifyst_event_manager |
Create and manage every event on the site |
| Event Organizer | manifyst_event_organizer |
Create events, and manage only the ones they own |
Assign a role under Users → Add New, or change an existing user's role on their profile.
Behind those roles are three capabilities:
| Capability | Grants |
|---|---|
manage_manifyst |
Managing events, slots, and signups — scoped to the user's own events unless paired with the next one |
manage_manifyst_all |
Removes the ownership scope, so every event is manageable |
manage_manifyst_settings |
The Settings and Activity Log screens |
Administrators get all three. Event Manager gets manage_manifyst and manage_manifyst_all; Event Organizer gets manage_manifyst alone, which is what keeps their lists filtered to their own events. Neither role gets manage_manifyst_settings, so coordinators cannot change site-wide settings or read the Activity Log.
Both coordinator roles can open Stock History. Event Managers see the whole ledger;
Event Organizers see only accounts and exports belonging to events they own. The global
integrity check remains available only to unrestricted managers and administrators.
If you use a role editor plugin, grant these capabilities directly rather than editing the bundled roles — the bundled definitions are recreated on activation.
Roles pair naturally with the front-end console, which lets coordinators work without ever opening the dashboard. See Front-End Management for Coordinators.
