Manifyst registers four shortcodes, and two blocks that render the same displays.
Blocks. In the block editor, the Manifyst Event block wraps [manifyst_event]
(with a searchable event picker and a live preview) and the Manifyst Events List block
wraps [manifyst_events]. Each block setting maps to the same-named shortcode attribute
below — eventId → id, showForm → show_form, showCapacity → show_capacity,
showSignups → show_signups, layout → layout; and for the list block limit,
status, upcoming, showPast → show_past, orderby, order,
organizerId → organizer_id, category, display. Leaving a block select on its
"Site setting" / "Event setting" choice is the same as omitting the attribute. If a
block-built template renders without Manifyst's styles (some full-site-editing setups),
add add_filter( 'manifyst_load_frontend_assets', '__return_true' );.
[manifyst_event] — one event with its details, slots, items, and signup form.
The embed honors the event's visibility. Private events show a login prompt to guests;
password-protected events show the password form and mark the containing response
non-cacheable.
| Attribute | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
id |
— | The event ID |
slug |
— | Use instead of id; survives a site migration better |
show_form |
true |
Show the signup form and signup actions |
show_slots |
true |
Show the event's time slots |
show_capacity |
Site setting | Show the remaining capacity for each slot |
show_signups |
Event setting | Show confirmed attendee names for each slot |
layout |
Event setting | Display style override: standard, sheet, or committee |
[manifyst_events] — a list of events, each linking to its own page.
Guests see Public events; signed-in visitors also see Private events. Password-protected
events are direct-link-only and never appear in this list, including display="full".
| Attribute | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
limit |
10 |
How many to show |
status |
active |
Event status to list |
upcoming |
true |
Hide events whose date has passed |
show_past |
false |
Include past events |
orderby |
start_date |
Field to sort by |
order |
ASC |
ASC or DESC |
organizer_id |
0 |
Limit to one organizer's events |
category |
— | Limit to one event category (slug) |
display |
list |
list links each event to its page; full renders every event's complete signup sheet inline |
[manifyst_my_signups] — the logged-in user's own slot and item signups, with a
Cancel action where the event and signup status allow it.
| Attribute | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
status |
— | Show one signup status: pending, confirmed, waitlisted, cancelled, or no_show |
show_past |
false |
Include signups for past events |
show_cancel |
true |
Show the Actions column and eligible Cancel links |
Logged-out visitors see a login prompt, so put this shortcode on a members page rather
than relying on it to hide the page itself.
[manifyst_manage] — the front-end management console for Event Managers and Event
Organizers.
| Attribute | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
title |
— | Add an optional heading above the console. Normally the WordPress page title is already the heading. |
Manifyst creates and selects a draft Manager Page during activation. Finish it from
Settings → Front-End Manager, where you can view, publish, and test the page. If you
choose a replacement, it must contain this shortcode. See
Front-End Management for Coordinators.
