Keep Manifyst updated through the normal WordPress Plugins screen. An active license lets WordPress find and install new Manifyst releases automatically.
Before an update #
Create a current database and file backup, especially on a site with active signup sheets. For an important or heavily used site, test the update on a staging copy first.
Check the release notes for any changed WordPress or PHP requirement. Updating Manifyst keeps existing events, signups, settings, and history in place.
Update automatically #
- Confirm the license is active under Manifyst → Settings → Licenses.
- Go to Dashboard → Updates or Plugins → Installed Plugins.
- Find Manifyst and click Update now.
- Wait for WordPress to report that the update completed before leaving the page.
If no update appears, refresh Dashboard → Updates and check the license status. An expired or inactive license does not stop Manifyst from working, but WordPress will not receive automatic Manifyst updates.
Update with a ZIP file #
If you are updating manually, download the current ZIP from your Artifex Routing account. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, and let WordPress replace the installed version when prompted.
Do not delete Manifyst as part of a routine update. Although data is retained by default, replacing the installed plugin is the safer and clearer update path.
Check the site afterward #
- Confirm Manifyst is active on Plugins → Installed Plugins.
- Open Manifyst → Dashboard and one existing event.
- Open the event's public page and confirm its slots or items load.
- After an email-related update, send a test message under Manifyst → Settings → Email.
If an event page returns a 404 after updating, follow An event's own page shows a 404.
