In the classic editor, menus go on a page two ways: the Steuard meta box below the content area (no shortcode needed), or the [steuard_menu] shortcode anywhere in the text. Both render through the same engine as the Steuard Menu block, and both display one published Menu post whose layout and display settings are saved on the Menu post itself.

- The content area accepts the
[steuard_menu id="123"]shortcode anywhere in the text. - The Steuard meta box below the editor selects a Menu post for automatic placement. It appears on the post types chosen under Steuard → Menu Options → Display → Show Meta Box On.
The Steuard meta box #
- Automatically render a menu on this page is the master switch — untick it and the selection is kept, but nothing renders.
- Menu lists every published Menu post. Choose one; Steuard appends it after the page content when the theme renders the page.
- The Shortcode row shows the selected menu's shortcode with Copy shortcode and Insert into editor buttons, for when you would rather place the menu inside the text.
Automatic placement only works for theme-rendered content. Page builders such as Elementor, Divi, and WPBakery should use the shortcode inside a text or shortcode widget instead.
The shortcode #
Paste the shortcode directly into the content:
[steuard_menu id="123"]
123 is the Menu post's numeric ID. Copy it from the Menu post under Steuard → Menus or from the meta box's Shortcode row rather than guessing. The shortcode accepts no other attributes — layout, display, override, and design settings all live on the Menu post. See the Steuard Menu Shortcode Reference.
Showing several menus #
Whether you use the meta box or the shortcode, a page displays one Menu post. To show two or more menus together — stacked or as tabs — create a Combined Menu post and select that. See Displaying Multiple Menus as Tabs.
