Connect Toast under Steuard → Menu Options → Connections, test the credentials, add at least one location, and save. A successful credential test alone does not select the restaurants whose menus Steuard should load.
- Choose Toast POS as the Provider Type and give the connection a label you will recognize.
- Enter the API hostname, Client ID, and Client Secret supplied for the same Toast environment.
- Click Test Connection. Do not continue until the test succeeds.
- Click Fetch Locations from API. If Toast does not allow this credential to list restaurants, click + Add Location and enter the location name and Toast restaurant GUID manually.
- Leave every Channel Filter checkbox clear to include everything, or select only the Toast visibility channels you want shown. The filter is strict: an item shows only if it carries one of the selected channels in Toast, so a menu whose items carry none of them shows no items at all. Save, then check the warning under the checkboxes — it names any menu the selection leaves empty.
- Click Save Changes.
- Wait for Steuard's live check, then confirm that the connection card says Connected.
- Go to Steuard → Add New Menu, choose Toast, and confirm the location's menus appear in the Toast menu dropdown. Pick one and publish it to display it.
Saving new or changed credentials automatically runs a live check. The result remains on the card after you reload the page. Connected verifies the credentials; it does not mean that a restaurant location has been selected or that menu data has refreshed. Check the separate Locations and Site-wide refresh rows on the card as well.
You can now insert the Steuard Menu block and choose a menu by name. See Getting Started with Steuard for the page-publishing steps.
If you do not yet have the three credential values, see Where do I find my Toast credentials?. Creating them needs Toast's Standard API access, included with Restaurant Management Suite Essentials and above. If the location or menus do not appear, see Why are locations or menus missing?.
