A Combined Menu post shows two or more of your other Menu posts together—either stacked one after another, or as tabs that let diners switch between Lunch, Dinner, and Drinks without scrolling through every menu at once. Place the Combined post like any other menu: in the Steuard Menu block, the classic-editor meta box, or the [steuard_menu] shortcode.
Create a Combined menu #
- Go to Steuard → Add New Menu and choose Combined.
- Give the post a title. It is the label you will pick in the block and meta box; the visible headings come from the included menus.
- Under Display mode, choose Stacked or Tabs.
- For tabs, choose a Tab style: Underline (the default, a thin rail with an underlined active tab) or Boxed (a filled tab bar with centered uppercase labels and a lifted active tab).
- Tick Include for each Menu post to show. Toast, Manual, and Composed menus are all available; a Combined menu cannot contain another Combined menu.
- Drag a row's handle—or focus the handle and press the arrow keys—to set the display order. Included menus list first, in display order.
- Optionally enter a shorter Tab label for any menu. When it is blank, the menu's name is used.
- Optionally add Text above the menus and Text below the menus—formatted notes or disclaimers shown on every tab (or around the whole stack).
- Click Publish, then select this Combined post on your page.

Each included menu keeps its own layout, display rules, overrides, and design, so a Featured dinner menu and a Basic drinks list can sit side by side under one tab bar. To change how one of them looks, edit that Menu post.
Front-end behavior and accessibility #

Visitors can click a tab or move through the tab list with the keyboard. Each tab links to its menu panel, so the page retains useful in-page anchors and a tab can be deep-linked. If JavaScript does not load, Steuard fails open: every menu remains visible and the tab links behave as ordinary page anchors instead of leaving the menu blank.
When tabs do not appear #
- Confirm that the Combined post is published and that at least two included menus are published. Draft menus are skipped.
- Confirm that Display mode is set to Tabs on the Combined post, and that the page selects the Combined post rather than one of its children.
- Clear page/CDN caches after changing the included menus or labels.
- If the controls or front-end switching do not respond, see Troubleshooting JavaScript Errors.
