Menu changes can take up to the configured refresh interval to appear because Steuard serves a cached copy instead of calling Toast on every page load. Check the last successful update under Steuard → Menu Options → Dashboard → Data Freshness.
If the connection is failing, Steuard tells you. A red notice at the top of the admin screens, the connection card, and the Data Freshness row all show the reason and the date it started, and the menu keeps showing the last good copy until it is fixed. Follow My POS or reviews connection won't connect. If there is no such notice, the connection is fine and the menu is simply waiting for its next refresh.
Pull a fresh copy sooner. Go to Steuard → Menu Options → Connections and click Clear Menu Cache at the top of the tab. Steuard fetches the menu again immediately and reports the result: "Cache cleared and menus refreshed", or "Cache cleared, but the refresh failed" with the reason. Saving changed connection settings also clears the menu cache, but the dedicated button avoids an unnecessary settings save. You can lower Refresh Frequency under Steuard → Menu Options → Advanced if your menu changes often.

Refresh from the page itself. Turn on Front-End Cache Bar under Steuard → Menu Options → Advanced and logged-in staff in the roles you check see a small bar above each live menu with the last-cached time and a Clear menu cache button — handy while adjusting menus in Toast. After a clear, the bar says whether the menu refreshed or why it did not, and while the connection is failing it shows the reason with a link to fix it. Visitors never see it.
Don't forget your site cache. If you run a page-cache or CDN plugin, the old menu may be cached in the page even after Steuard has fresh data. Clear that cache so visitors see the update.
