Use [steuard_menu] when a block or the classic-editor Steuard meta box is not practical. It selects one published Menu post by its numeric WordPress post ID.
The Steuard Menu block is the recommended option for most pages because it provides a menu picker and preview. The shortcode is useful in page builders, widgets, reusable content, and other places that accept shortcode text.
Shortcode attribute #
| Attribute | Values and default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
id |
One numeric Menu post ID; 0 by default |
Displays the selected published Menu post. Example: [steuard_menu id="123"]. |
Go to Steuard → Menus and open the Menu post. Copy its ready-to-use shortcode instead of guessing the ID.
Where display settings live #
The shortcode does not accept layout, price, item, override, design, or multi-menu options. Change those settings on the selected Menu post so its block, shortcode, and classic-editor placements stay consistent.
To display several menus in a stack or accessible tabs, create a Combined Menu post and use that post's ID:
[steuard_menu id="456"]
If the page displays “No published menu was found for this shortcode,” confirm that the ID belongs to a published Menu post. See My menu isn't showing on the page for additional checks.
