Affiliate Terms of Use

As an authorized affiliate (“Affiliate”) of Artifex Routing Co (“Artifex”, “we”, “us”), you agree to the terms and conditions in this agreement (“Agreement”). Read the whole Agreement before you register and before you promote any Artifex plugin as an Affiliate.

The Artifex Affiliate Program (“Program”) covers every plugin we sell at artifexrouting.com: Coupon Creator Pro, the Coupon Creator Add-ons, Steuard, Manifyst, and any plugin we add later. Your participation in the Program is solely to legally advertise our website in order to receive a commission on licenses purchased by people you refer, through your own website, content or personal referrals.

By applying to the Program you accept this Agreement and its terms and conditions.

Approval or Rejection of the Application

We review every application by hand and reserve the right to approve or reject any application at our sole discretion. We usually answer within a few business days. You have no legal recourse against us for the rejection of an application.

Commissions

The commission rate is 30% of the net sale amount on the first purchase of a license, and 15% of the net sale amount on each renewal payment of that license, for as long as the referred customer keeps renewing. There is no cap on the number of renewals. The net sale amount is the price the customer paid after discounts and before tax.

Referrals are tracked by a cookie set when a visitor follows your affiliate link. The cookie lasts 30 days. When a visitor has followed more than one affiliate’s link, the last link clicked before the purchase earns the commission.

A commission is held for 30 days after the sale, which is the length of our refund window, and then becomes payable. Payable commissions are paid once a month by PayPal. We pay when your payable balance is $50 or more; a smaller balance carries over to the next month. Keep your PayPal email current in your Affiliate Area.

Only completed transactions earn a commission. A transaction that is refunded, reversed or charged back does not, and a commission already credited for it is removed.

You cannot refer yourself. Purchases made through your own affiliate link, by you or on your behalf, earn no commission.

Rates and terms may change. We give 30 days’ notice of a rate change by email to the address on your affiliate account. A change applies to sales made after it takes effect, not to commissions already credited.

Termination

Your affiliate application and status in the Program may be suspended or terminated for any of the following reasons:

  • Inappropriate advertisements (false claims, misleading hyperlinks, and the like).
  • Spamming (mass email, mass newsgroup posting, unsolicited messages).
  • Advertising on sites containing or promoting illegal activities.
  • Failure to disclose the affiliate relationship in any promotion that qualifies as an endorsement under the Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines and regulations, or under any applicable state law.
  • Violation of intellectual property rights. Artifex reserves the right to require a license agreement from anyone who uses an Artifex trademark or plugin name in order to protect our intellectual property rights.
  • Offering rebates, coupons or any other promised kick-back from your affiliate commission as an incentive. Adding your own bonuses, or bundling other products with an Artifex plugin, is acceptable.
  • Self-referrals, fraudulent transactions, or suspected affiliate fraud.

In addition, Artifex reserves the right to terminate any affiliate account at any time, for a violation of this Agreement or for no reason. Commissions already payable at termination are paid at the next monthly payout, unless the termination was for fraud.

You may use graphic and text links on your website and in your email messages. You may also advertise artifexrouting.com in online and offline classified ads, magazines and newspapers.

You may use the graphics and text we provide in the Affiliate Area, or create your own, as long as they are appropriate under this Agreement and not in violation of the Termination section.

Coupon and Deal Sites

Artifex occasionally offers coupon codes to selected affiliates and to our newsletter subscribers. If you have not been assigned a branded coupon, you may not promote a coupon. The following terms apply to any affiliate who promotes our plugins in connection with a deal or coupon:

  • Affiliates may not use misleading text on affiliate links, buttons or images to imply anything beyond the deals currently authorized for that affiliate.
  • Affiliates may not bid on “Artifex coupon”, “Coupon Creator Pro coupon”, “Steuard discount” or any other phrase that implies a coupon is available for one of our plugins.
  • Affiliates may not generate pop-ups, pop-unders, iframes, frames or any other seen or unseen action that sets an affiliate cookie, unless the visitor has clearly chosen a specific saving by clicking a clearly marked link, button or image for that coupon or deal. The link must send the visitor to our site.
  • The visitor must be able to see the coupon or deal details before an affiliate cookie is set. “Click here to see coupons”, which opens our site and sets a cookie, is not allowed.
  • Affiliate sites may not show “Click for deal” or any variation when no coupon or deal is available and the click opens our site or sets a cookie. Affiliates with such text are removed from the Program immediately.

Pay Per Click (PPC) Policy

PPC bidding on our brand names, plugin names or domain is not allowed without prior written permission.

Liability

Artifex is not liable for indirect or incidental damages (loss of revenue, loss of commissions) caused by affiliate tracking failures, loss of database files, or any attempt to harm the Program or our website.

We make no express or implied warranty about the Program or about the plugins we sell. We do not claim that the Program or our website will run without error, and we are not liable for any interruption or error.

Term of the Agreement

The term of this Agreement begins when we approve your application and ends when your affiliate account is terminated, by you or by us.

We may modify this Agreement at any time. If a modification is unacceptable to you, your only recourse is to end your participation in the Program. Your continued participation after a change constitutes your acceptance of it.

Indemnification

Affiliate shall indemnify and hold harmless Artifex Routing Co and its affiliated and subsidiary companies, officers, directors, employees, licensees, successors and assigns, including those licensed or authorized by Artifex to transmit and distribute materials, from any and all liabilities, damages, fines, judgments, claims, costs, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and costs) arising out of or related to any claim sustained in connection with this Agreement due to the negligence, misrepresentation, failure to disclose, or intentional misconduct of Affiliate.

Electronic Signatures Effective

This Agreement is an electronic contract that sets out the legally binding terms of your participation in the Artifex Affiliate Program. You indicate your acceptance of this Agreement and of all terms and conditions contained or referenced in it by completing the application. That action creates an electronic signature with the same legal force and effect as a handwritten signature.
