Work through these in order:
- The shortcode's
vectorid. It must be the ID of a published chat — copy the shortcode from the chat's edit screen rather than retyping it. See Displaying the Chat. - Is the chat restricted? A chat with Logged In enabled renders nothing for logged-out visitors — that's by design. Check the Restrictions tab.
- A JavaScript conflict. The widget is a JavaScript app, so another plugin's or the theme's broken script can stop it from mounting. The chat's edit screen shows a warning when Wyregraf detects a conflict; your browser's console will name the offending script. Temporarily switching to a default theme and disabling other plugins is the fastest way to find the culprit.
- Aggressive caching or JS optimization. Script minify/combine features can break the widget's assets — exclude Wyregraf's scripts from optimization and clear the cache.
