Embeddings are created through OpenAI (the text-embedding-3 model family), and the chat model can be OpenAI (GPT-5.5 through the 4.1/4o mini tiers) or Anthropic. Wyregraf 0.7.0 offers Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Haiku 4.5, and Claude Opus 4.6. You connect a provider by entering its API key in a profile — see Embeddings & Vector Profiles and LLM Profiles.
You can mix providers: OpenAI for embeddings and an Anthropic Claude model for the chat is a perfectly good pairing, since the two jobs are independent.
Vector storage needs no provider at all — the index lives in your own WordPress database.
Provider availability changes over time. Test every saved profile before publishing a chat; saving
an API key by itself does not prove that the selected model is enabled for the provider account.
